Pat Carey Hailing from Coatesville, Pennsylvania, Pat Carey takes to the water in his 18-foot Bass Tracker Proteam 185 equipped with a Mercury 50 HP EFI power plant.
He is involved with BASS, BASS Federation of Pennsylvania, District III as an associate member, as well as with the Chester County Bassmasters, and the Brandywine Bassmasters.
Carey has fished in the Marsh Creek Classic, the Blue Marsh Open, and several other tournaments local to his Coatesville home base. Currently, his targeted fishing interests include bass, walleye, and muskie.
Carey says...
I started fishing when I was five years old with my dad in his 12-foot Jon Boat in small rivers and ponds. Today, I fish from an 18-foot Bass Tracker in large bodies of water like the Susquehanna River and lakes all over Pennsylvania.
Seasonally, I fish for largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, muskie, and American shad.
I enjoy using "catch-and-release" methods: it helps to conserve the fish population so that future generations can enjoy fishing as much as I have.
Fishing is a very important part of my life. I am constantly reading and watching for ways to improve on strategy and technique. Over the years, I have become very knowledgeable about lures and their presentation, how the weather affects fish, line weight and types, and influences on fish habitats.
I have fished in local and regional tournaments and hope to broaden my experience by competing in the larger tournaments and put my knowledge and skills to the test.
Remember, "if you catch a man a fish, he eats once; if you teach a man to fish, he eats forever. Never give up and follow your dreams."
