HI-SEAS Congratulates Kim Bain-Moore, First Woman to Compete in Bassmaster Classic!
COATESVILLE, PA (March 30, 2009) – HI-SEAS is honored to have Pro Staff team member, Kim Bain-Moore to shatter the gender barrier in tournament bass fishing by fishing in the most prestigious competition, the 2009 Bassmaster Classic. Bain-Moore competed for the first time in the Women’s Bassmaster Tour in 2008 and dominated the competition by winning the Angler of the Year honors. With those honors came an invitation to fish the Classic as the first woman in its 37 year history. The pressure that came with the invitation started weeks before the event with unprecedented press coverage of her every move, but that didn’t slow her down. During that time she managed to win the first leg of the Southern Kingfish Association Pro Tour in Key West, Florida along with her husband Andre Moore, also a professional angler and HI-SEAS Pro Staffer. She never failed to have a smile and a few minutes for an autograph or interview.

The lines were so long that people waited for hours to get her signature, shake her hand and wish her well. The line was filled with women, children and fathers and daughters. It was an outpouring like nothing I’ve seen there before.”
Kim fished hard under difficult conditions and held her head high throughout the three day event and HI-SEAS would like to extend their congratulations. Bain-Moore is a shining light that is expanding participation in fishing by her example. She is also helping HI-SEAS bring anglers the finest fishing lines in the world and hopefully seeing her compete again in the 2010 Bassmaster Classic.
